ATB Financial Announces Selection of New President and CEO

    EDMONTON, March 14 /CNW/ - Bob Splane, Chairman of the Board for ATB
Financial, announced today that Mr. David Mowat has been selected as the new
President and CEO for ATB Financial. The Government of Alberta has formally
approved the appointment.
    The selection of David Mowat comes as a result of an extensive national
search launched in the fall of 2006. His appointment will be effective
June 11, 2007. Mr. Mowat replaces Bob Normand, who has served as President and
CEO for the past six years.
    Mr. Mowat brings a wealth of experience in the financial services
industry. Originally an Albertan, he was born in Calgary and raised in
Sherwood Park. Since 2000, Mr. Mowat has served as Chief Executive Officer for
Vancity, the largest credit union in English Canada. Based in Vancouver, under
Mr. Mowat's leadership, Vancity received a number of national awards including
being selected as the number one place to work in Canada. On a personal basis,
Mr. Mowat has won awards as Communicator of the Year awarded by the
International Association of Business Communicators and Marketer of the Year
awarded by the American Marketing Association (BC Chapter).
