Assembly of First Nations - Media Advisory

    OTTAWA, July 16 /CNW Telbec/ - The Assembly of First Nations and
Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada will sign a Memorandum of
Understanding on July 17th at 1:30 pm at the AFN Annual General Assembly
Quebec City Convention Centre, 1000 boulevard Rene-Levesque Est, Quebec, QC.
    The National Chief will also congratulate Indigenous Physicians
Association of Canada on their success in developing a competencies framework
for medical schools that should improve the recruitment and retention of First
Nations medical students and help non-native doctors work more successfully
with First Nations patients and communities.

    The Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada (IPAC) is a voluntary
association of First Nations, Inuit and Métis medical students and physicians
whose mandate includes improving recruitment and retention practices of
medical schools.
