authors, are supporting literacy in Montreal through a public fundraising
evening on Friday, November 30. Assante Wealth Management is a sponsor of
CanWest Raise-a-Reader - a unique program designed to increase awareness, and
raise money for family literacy programs across Canada.
The special event for children age 7 to 12 and their parents will be held
at the Assante Capital Management Ltd. branch on 8301 Transcanadienne in St.
Laurent. It starts at 5 p.m. and runs to 7 p.m. A portion of proceeds from all
book sales at the event will benefit local literacy programs supported by

Gill has received numerous awards for her work, including the Prix

will talk about her passion for writing and sense of wonderment, as she
invites all to meet the characters of her novel, Le miracle de Juliet.
Isabelle Larouche writes for readers of all ages, offering stories that
make them laugh, shiver or dream. Her novel, Shawinigan et Shipshaw, has
received wide critical acclaim. At the event, she will introduce Opération
pièges à chats! - the sequel to Shawinigan et Shipshaw.
Claire Mallett grew up in Provence, in the South of France and moved to
Quebec's Eastern Townships in 1995. Writing since the age of nine, she tours
schools in Quebec and in France, reminding children about the importance of
reading and encouraging them to realize their dreams.
