Ascalade completes transition to its new factory in Qingyuan, China

    RICHMOND, BC, Jan. 8 /CNW/ - Ascalade Communications Inc. ("Ascalade" or
"the company") (TSX: ACG) announced today that it has completed the
construction of its US $17 million manufacturing facility in Qingyuan, China
and concluded the transition from its previously leased facility in Dongguan,
    Ascalade's new manufacturing facility offers more than 500,000 square
feet, and the ability to house 4,000 employees. In addition, Ascalade's new
factory provides its customers access to its vertically integrated
manufacturing processes including in-house plastic injection, automatic spray
painting, bonding, Surface Mounting Technology ("SMT") assembly and final
assembly and test of products ready for distribution to the consumer. The new
facility will ultimately improve Ascalade's production capability, increase
manufacturing flexibility and ensure Ascalade continues to offer high quality
products and manufacturing services.

    Ascalade has implemented an environmental filtering system that exceeds
the environmental standards in Guangdong, China and expects to obtain quality
management and assurance certifications including ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 for
its new facilities in the near future.
