ASC Dismisses TransAlta's Cease Trade Application

    CALGARY, Aug. 25 /CNW/ - The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC) has
dismissed an application made by TransAlta Corporation requesting that the ASC
cease trade a shareholder rights plan implemented by Canadian Hydro Developers
    In its oral decision, the ASC panel dismissed the application by
Alberta-based power generation company TransAlta, which recently made a
take-over bid for all the shares of Canadian Hydro Developers, a Calgary-based
renewable energy company.
