MONTREAL, Aug. 10 /CNW Telbec/ - Araband Live 2007, a major cultural and
musical event that was to take place on August 18 and 19 in the Quays of the
Old Port, has been postponed until next year due to financial and
administrative problems. The announcement comes from the event's organizers,
Toronto-based ReignMan Music.
The spokespeople for ReignMan are quick to reassure the thousands of
people who have already bought tickets that they will be reimbursed quickly by
Ticket Pro, either at the counter where the tickets were purchased, by calling

Reimbursements will also be made at additional outlets where tickets were
A major sponsor and backer pulled out from the project at the last
minute, leaving approximately one quarter of the operating budget for the
event without guarantees. At the same time, problems arose regarding official
papers for the artists and their entourage, which led to delays in immigration
procedures, thus complicating the situation further.
"After reflecting upon the event, it became clear that postponing the
Araband Live event was the only responsible decision to make under the
circumstances," said Malik Soliman, president of ReignMan Music. "We will take
steps to procure more financial guarantees next year to make sure the event is
a success. The fact that thousands of fans bought tickets is proof that
Araband Live is a viable project. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts
for their support, and we look forward to seeing them next year," he added.
Concerts featuring stars from the Arab world and the 22 kiosks
representing as many countries from North Africa and the Middle East will meet
next year at the end of August.
