OTTAWA, June 23 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment
of Mr. Claude Francoeur to the board of directors of the Federal Bridge
"I am pleased that Mr. Francoeur has agreed to serve as a member of the
board of the Federal Bridge Corporation Limited," said Minister Cannon. "His
professional experience will be a great asset to the corporation."
Mr. Claude Francoeur graduated with a master's degree in business
administration from the University of Sherbrooke in 1969 and has continuously
worked in the international development field.
He worked for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) for
more than 30 years.
Mr. Francoeur has been appointed to the Federal Bridge Corporation
Limited board for a term of four years.
The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited and its subsidiary organizations
engage in a range of activities to ensure that the bridges, tunnels, roadways
and other structures under their control are safe, modern, efficient,
environmentally sound and well maintained.
Incorporated in 1998, the Federal Bridge Corporation Limited is
responsible for the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Inc., and the Seaway
International Bridge Corporation Ltd., as well as the management of the
Canadian half of the Thousand Islands International Bridge and the
Sault Ste. Marie International Bridge.
