Appointment to the Atlantic Pilotage Authority

    OTTAWA, Sept. 5 /CNW Telbec/ - The Honourable Lawrence Cannon, Minister
of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, today announced the appointment
of Alisa L. Aymar to the board of directors of the Atlantic Pilotage
Authority, for a period of four years.
    "I am pleased that Ms. Aymar has accepted this appointment to the
Atlantic Pilotage Authority," said Minister Cannon. "The board of directors
will greatly benefit from her strong communication, analytical and problem
resolution skills."
    Ms. Aymar is obtaining a master's degree in business administration from
Laurentian University and is a certified general accountant. She is presently
manager of financial services at Comeau's Sea Foods Ltd. in Saulnierville,
Nova Scotia and reviews all aspects of operations to ensure the company's
operating efficiency.
    The Atlantic Pilotage Authority is a Crown corporation created in 1972
under the Pilotage Act. It is responsible for operating and maintaining a safe
and efficient pilotage service on all coastal waters in the Atlantic region.
The Authority sets pilotage charges that allow it to operate on a
self-sustaining financial basis.
