Andrew Lutfy, Groupe Dynamite Inc. CEO named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2007 for Quebec

Clothing Retailer Dynamo Takes Home Prestigious Business Award

MONTREAL, Oct. 4 /CNW/ - At a gala awards presentation this evening,
Andrew Lutfy, CEO of Groupe Dynamite Inc. was awarded the Quebec Ernst & Young
Entrepreneur Of The Year 2007 award. Mr. Lutfy also received one of seven
category awards, for Business-to-Consumer Products and Services, at the
banquet and ceremony in Montreal.
"The story of Mr. Lutfy's journey to success is truly inspirational,"
said François Dufresne, Partner, Ernst & Young, and director of the Ernst &
Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards program for Quebec. "His determination,
vision and courage have taken him from being an 18 year-old stock clerk to
owner and CEO of a very successful women's clothing retailer."
Credited for developing the company's growth from three stores to more
than 240 across the country, Mr. Lutfy is a force to be reckoned with. The
success of Groupe Dynamite Inc. (Garage and Dynamite stores) can be attributed
to his ability and willingness to listen to the marketplace while surrounding
himself with others who are as passionate about the brand as he is. The
working environment encourages innovation while developing skills - both
individual and team achievements play a key role in the company's success.
Mr. Lutfy's personal mission has always been to help build strong
communities that can thrive. At the tender age of 18, he co-founded the
Montreal Youth Foundation. Since 1997, he continues to raise money for the
Cedars Cancer Institute, and has co-chaired some of the institute's fund
raising activities - helping to raise over one million dollars. Social
responsibility plays an important role at Groupe Dynamite Inc. For the past 11
years, Groupe Dynamite Inc. has partnered with CURE Foundation, raising
awareness of breast cancer by participating in their annual Denim Day campaign
and raising over $85,000. Other charitable organizations that have benefited
from the company's involvement include the SPCA, the Red Cross, and Unicef.
The company also offers scholarship programs to a variety of fashion schools
and foundations across Canada.
As the Quebec award recipient, Mr. Lutfy will compete with top
entrepreneurs from the Pacific, Prairies, Ontario and Atlantic regions for the
national honour of Entrepreneur Of The Year, to be announced November 1, 2007
in Toronto. In June 2008, Canada's Entrepreneur Of The Year moves to the world
stage, joining more than 40 country recipients participating in the
