Ambergris Cay Airport at Turks & Caicos Sporting Club Certified to Receive International Flights

AMBERGRIS CAY, TURKS & CAICOS, British West Indies, June 3 /CNW/ -- Turks
& Caicos Sporting Club at Ambergris Cay is pleased to announce that Ambergris
Cay Airport has been certified by the United Kingdom to receive international
flights via its 5,700-foot airstrip; the longest lighted, paved private
airstrip in the Caribbean.

After an intensive and comprehensive inspection by Captain Ian Ramsay,
Stan Lynch and Bert Haynes of Air Safety Support International, responsible
for aviation regulatory issues in the British Overseas Territories, and Peter
Forbes and James Ingham of Turks and Caicos Islands Civil Aviation Authority,
Ambergris Cay Airport has been certified to receive domestic and international
flights up to and including Category 6 aircraft, including the Gulfstream V
and Global Express.
The private airstrip at Ambergris Cay Airport offers Turks & Caicos
Sporting Club members an opportunity that few other destinations can match-the
chance to fly directly, non-stop to their own private Caribbean island.
Twenty-four hour prior permission is required before scheduled arrivals.
Ambergris Cay Airport provides adjacent on-site Customs & Immigration
services, as well as a fully equipped, trained and certified firefighting team
and flight information service office in compliance with CAA regulations.
Turks & Caicos Sporting Club will be celebrating the certification of
Ambergris Cay Airport with an inaugural celebratory weekend filled with
Caribbean festivities, local delicacies and a ribbon-cutting ceremony with
honorable Turks & Caicos Islands dignitaries June 20- 22, 2008.
"This amenity is the top of the top," says Peter Pollak, Managing
Partner, DPS Sporting Club Development. "The certification of Ambergris Cay
Airport at Turks & Caicos Sporting Club for international arrivals, coupled
with a 5,700-foot airstrip offering GV and Global Express access, stands head
and shoulders above any other private island development in the Caribbean."
Capable of operations seven days a week for both international and
domestic flights, Ambergris Cay members now have the ultimate in arrival and
departure flexibility. The airstrip operates from sunrise to sunset, with
nighttime operations planned for the near future. Along with private aircraft
access, the Airport will continue to serve Club flights to and from the nearby
island of Providenciales (Provo). Turks & Caicos Sporting Club offers direct
23-minute flights from Provo to Ambergris Cay on the private Sporting Club
planes. Access to Provo is convenient with direct flights from Atlanta,
Boston, Charlotte, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, London, Miami, New York,
Philadelphia and Toronto.
"For our clients, their most valuable asset is time," says Patrick
Worsham, Managing Director DPS Club Management "Building a private airstrip
gives them the ability to get here easily and begin enjoying themselves the
moment they touch the ground."
