made an appearance at Scotia Plaza today to meet 100 of his biggest fans, in
an event organized by Scotiabank, the Official Bank of the National Hockey
League (NHL) and The National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA).
"It was amazing to have had an opportunity to meet so many passionate
Canadian hockey fans today," said Ovechkin. "I have already started training
for the 2008/09 season but it was a lot of fun to take a break from my
schedule to take part in this great Scotiabank event."

photo from Alex Ovechkin and hear him talk with Canadian hockey great and
sports commentator, Cassie Campbell. Fans entered for the chance to see
Ovechkin at www.scotiahockey.com and were selected by random draw.
Recipient of the 2008 Art Ross Trophy and Maurice "Rocket" Richard
Trophy, Ovechkin is also nominated in the 2008 Hart Trophy and the Lester B.
