LAVAL, QC, Dec. 21 /CNW Telbec/ - ALERT B&C Corporation (the

Mr. Pete Phelan and Mr. Marc Vermette have joined its Board of Directors.
Mr. Pete Phelan who had previously joined the Board as an independent
Director, brings over 30 years of a multi-faceted and varied international
business and scientific experience and background.
Mr. Phelan is presently the President and CEO of ALERT World Service,
LLC, which was established in 1998. The company has contracts in Europe and
the Middle-east serving the security needs of multi-national companies and
In June 2001, Mr. Phelan joined DynCorp, a multi-national US company. He
served as the Senior Vice President of IT and Electronic Security until
October 2006. Previously, he had served as its Company's Senior Vice President
for Strategic Programs and Business Development.
Prior to being employed by DynCorp, he served with the United Nations
Department of Peacekeeping Operations for over 10 years. His last assignment
with the UN was in the United Nations Secretariat in a position having global
responsibility for directing the administrative, logistics, communications and
information technology services for all UN Peacekeeping missions. He was
responsible for the preparation, defense and administration of the global
Peacekeeping support budgets. He also served as the Chief of Administration
and Logistics and Communications and Information Technology in the UN
Peacekeeping missions in Kosovo, Cambodia and the former Yugoslavia and
frequently traveled the globe in support of Peacekeeping operations.
Before joining the UN, he was a senior officer in the U.S Army. His last
assignment was as the Senior U.S. Observer with the UN Peacekeepers in
Iraq/Kuwait following the '91 Gulf War. He commanded an Army Brigade and
served as the Chief of Combat Service Support for Systems Development as well
as holding various other command and staff assignments throughout his military
He holds an M.S. in Logistics Engineering Science from the Florida
Institute of Technology, and holds a B.S. in Biological Sciences/Chemistry
from North Dakota State University.

Mr. Vermette presently leads RSW International Trading Company Ltd, which
is the European subsidiary of Groupe RSW, a Canadian Engineering group of over
300 employees founded in 1970, specializing in Power and Water Management
Technologies. Mr. Vermette, an Engineer-Lawyer administers the company and is
responsible for numerous projects on three continents.
Mr. Vermette is a member of the Order of Engineers specialising in
construction and transportation applications. He holds an Engineering Master
degree from Concordia University (1982) in project finance and a Law degree
(1986) from the University of Montreal and he was admitted to the Quebec Bar
in 1988. He started his career with the consulting arm of Canadian Pacific; he
evolved to sub-department head in charge of strategic planning issues for
corporate projects as well as for all transportation modes with a specific
emphasis on rail. After working for a major Montreal-based law firm
specializing in corporate, intellectual property and construction law, he
joined a Group raising private financing for commercial and industrial
