Agreement Reached in Lanigan

    SASKATOON, April 6 /CNW Telbec/ - Members of the Communications, Energy
and Paperworkers Union of Canada Local 922, Lanigan, Saskatchewan have
ratified a new Collective Agreement with Potash Corp SK. (PCS) as of April
1st, 2009.
    Negotiations with the employer commenced in early January and concluded
when a tentative agreement was reached March 26, 2009.
    "The Locals bargaining committee worked tirelessly on behalf of their
membership which resulted in significant improvements" says Walter Manning,
CEP National Rep. Along with collective agreement language revisions the
workers will see their wages increase overall by approx 18% over the next 3
years. Other wage adjustments tied to some specific jobs translates into
increases even greater than 18% for some workers.
    "The industry has made enormous amounts of profit over the past few years
due in part to the hard work and commitment of our members. This agreement
reflects this and we are pleased to have successfully concluded these
negotiations" concludes Manning.
    The CEP looks forward to a continued harmonious relationship with PCS
throughout the next 3 years.

    CEP represents about 150,000 working people coast to coast in energy,
including 9,000 members in Saskatchewan.
