Agreement in Principle reached between Bishop's University and the APBU



    SHERBROOKE, QC, Aug. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - Last night representatives from the
University and the APBU signed an agreement in principle thus ending the
strike of non-academic staff and the lock-out of unionized employees at
Bishop's University. A back-to-work protocol was also signed which will see
all University activities resume Wednesday, August 8, 2007.
    APBU will hold ratification votes on the collective agreements early next
week.
    The fall semester is expected to commence, as scheduled, on Saturday,
September 1st at 9:00 am with the official opening of the student residences.
    No further information related to these tentative agreements will be
provided until the ratification votes have taken place.
