ActiveMine(TM) To Be Demonstrated For Consol Energy In West Virginia

CONSOL, One of the Largest Underground Coal Producers in the U.S., to
Assess System's Wireless Communications and Tracking Capabilities

    TSX-V: ACT

TORONTO, March 6 /CNW/ - Active Control Technology Inc. (TSX-V:ACT)
announced today that it will demonstrate ActiveMine(TM), the company's 100%
wireless two-way voice communications and tracking system, for CONSOL Energy
Inc. (NYSE: CNX), a major U.S. underground coal and energy producer.
The system will be installed in a West Virginia longwall mining operation
later this month. West Virginia is a leader in mine safety and requires all
safety systems to be approved for use in the state. This will be the second
installation of ActiveMine, which recently underwent a successful
demonstration at another major underground coal mine, in Illinois.
"The CONSOL demonstration will further show mine operators and regulators
that ActiveMine meets their tough standards for safety and operating
efficiency," said Steve Barrett, President and CEO of Active Control
Technology. "We thank CONSOL for the opportunity to demonstrate ActiveMine's
capabilities in a longwall operation."

    About ActiveMine
ActiveMine is the first fully-integrated, 100% wireless communications
and locating technology for underground mines. The system is designed to
improve underground mining safety and enhance operating efficiencies through
wireless, real-time electronic tracking of personnel and equipment, and robust
two-way voice communications with each miner.
The system's unique, 100% wireless network architecture makes it easy to
install and extend as the mine face advances, while significantly reducing
maintenance costs arising from the frequent mechanical damage suffered by
traditional hard-wired mine communication networks.

ACT will host the final day of an open house hospitality suite between
