"In my view, Acer's great accomplishment was not so much in capturing the
top spot in the notebook market, as it was expanding the notebook market,"
said Albert Daoust, senior analyst at Partner Research Canada. "Because of
Acer's low prices and copious supply, a whole new category of client entered
the notebook market. Bravo Acer!"
"Our achievement in the Canadian region is attributed to the Acer channel
business model, which greatly enhances the company's structure and channel
relations," said Terry Tomecek, general manager of Acer Canada. "Acer's
competitiveness in the Canadian IT marketplace has increased because the way
Acer has streamlined the supply chain and eased the way in which the company
brings new and innovative products to the marketplace."
