Access to Post-Secondary Education a Top Priority: Ernst & Young

Leaders of Tomorrow Conference Offers Students a Starting Point

TORONTO, Nov. 26 /CNW/ - Ernst & Young leaders will sit down today with
high school students from across the Greater Toronto Area to support their
dreams and help them plan for the future.
This initiative is part of the 3rd annual Leaders of Tomorrow Business
and Technology Conference taking place at the BMO Financial Group Institute of
Learning, in Scarborough. Through workshops, motivational talks and one-on-one
conversations, professionals from Ernst & Young with similar backgrounds as
the participants will shed light on post-secondary educational opportunities.
The goal is to encourage students from priority neighbourhoods to think beyond
high school and help them understand the many opportunities a post-secondary
education can provide.
"Ernst & Young is committed to increasing access to education in Canada,"
said Ernst & Young Chairman and CEO Lou Pagnutti. "Our people will share their
own experiences, provide insight on educational funding, and inspire these
bright young students to believe in themselves."
Ernst & Young has a national strategy to help remove barriers to
post-secondary education. Partners and staff team with outside organizations
through events such as Leaders of Tomorrow to reach minority student
populations across Canada.
"At Ernst & Young, we believe in providing a work environment where
everyone's respected for the talents and skills they bring to the workplace.
We want these young people to know that they are smart, that their dreams are
achievable and that we need them to be our business leaders of tomorrow,"
Pagnutti said.
Through interactive workshops at the two-day event, Ernst & Young will
provide information and offer students the chance to ask questions, highlight
concerns, and create solutions.
