Dalton McGuinty kicks off first-ever Tour de Greenbelt

Foundation today to launch the first ever Tour de Greenbelt, a fresh air
festival on wheels exploring all that Ontario's Greenbelt has to offer --
fresh, local food, rural hospitality and fun recreation. Mountain Equipment

This family-oriented cycling event, held over two weekends has four
distinct routes with visits to farms, farmers' markets, wineries and historic
sites. End-of-ride barbecues feature delicious, local Greenbelt food.
Interest in the Tour has been unprecedented. Some rides are already sold
out and the others are filling up fast. "I want to thank all those who have
shown their support for healthy lifestyles, Ontario communities and cycling
clubs across Ontario by riding in the Tour de Greenbelt. This is a clear

- Saturday, September 20 - Rouge Valley: Starting and ending at the
Toronto Zoo, the 8:30 a.m. kick off features Premier Dalton McGuinty,
Raymond Cho, Chair of the Toronto Zoo and Burkhard Mausberg,
President, Greenbelt Foundation. TVOKids' Enviro Girl will count down
to the first ride!

- Saturday September 27 - Burlington to St. Catharines: Starting at the
new Mountain Equipment Co-op store and ending at Henry of Pelham
- Sunday, September 28 - Niagara-on-the-Lake: Starting and ending at
Frogpond Farm Winery

100% of Tour pledges will be donated to participating cycling clubs to
support safe and active cycling networks in southern Ontario, so people can
return again and again to cycle the bounty of the Greenbelt. Visit
