A new identity abroad for the French food industry: The French Minister of Agriculture and Fishing is unveiling a new logo at SIAL in Paris

    PARIS, France, Oct. 30 /CNW Telbec/ - It's an entirely new identity for
the French food industry which Canadian providers, importers, distributors and
journalists are very soon going to discover on their market... On October 19,
2008 at SIAL in Paris, one of the world's most important trade fairs for food
and innovation, the French Minister of Agriculture and Fishing unveiled a new
identity for France's food industry.
    The creation of this logo, by the SOPEXA group, was guided by the wish to
translate the values of a French food industry that is strong, contemporary
and friendly.
    To help create an immediate association with France, the Eiffel Tower, an
icon that is recognized worldwide, was used. With the signature of "Bon
Appétit", the French food industry invites you to share in the warmth and
strong values of the French food culture. This graphic identity will be
featured at all international promotion and communication activities of French
food businesses (international trade shows - SIAL Montréal, French weeks,
    In order to create a link between the French food industry and its
foreign markets, new tools made available to the providers and the media of
the Canadian market have been developed to further this identity:

    - A website "www.frenchfoodandbeverages.com" presents the different
      facets of the French food industry (economic data, production
      requirements, quality labels, product diversity, the art of living,
      etc.) and offers foreign providers a key tool at hand in the form of a
      directory of French export businesses as well as an agenda of French
      food events on the market. (on-line in early December)
    - An e-letter, "French Food News" intended for foreign media to give an
      up-to-date account of current happenings in the food industry in
      France, to show its dynamism and its influence on the Canadian market
