CALGARY, March 19 /CNW/ - Seven little numbers on a SUPER 7 ticket added
up to a major windfall for Murray Erickson. The Innisfail resident won
$2.5 million on the March 14th SUPER 7 draw!
Murray works in the forestry industry and travels through the small
foothills towns of central Alberta regularly. On a swing through Sundre last
week, he stopped at Joko Convenience Emporium to purchase a few lottery
Murray has been playing lottery games for years, mostly SUPER 7 and
LOTTO 6/49. "I'm a regular," Murray said. "The folks there all know me." He
bought several Quick Pick tickets and continued to his job site.
Friday night, the evening of the SUPER 7 draw, Murray fell asleep in
front of the television and woke around 11 p.m. His wife had gone to bed, and
Murray decided to check his lottery tickets on the wclc.com website. "It said
that SUPER 7 had been won by a single ticket in Alberta. So, I thought that
was kind of interesting," Murray recalled.
"I worked my way through my little pile of tickets, circling any numbers
that I had. But when I came to this one ticket, I started circling numbers and
kept circling until I found I had all seven!" Excited by what he saw, Murray
went to wake his wife. "I said 'I have some news. I've won some major money.'

The couple agrees that $2.5 million is certainly 'major'. They have been
looking at property on Vancouver Island for a couple of years, and believe
their search for a new home will become more serious now. "And maybe we'll
even increase the scale of what we're looking for," Murray added with a grin.
