33rd Ahmadiyya Annual Convention Examines Religious, Contemporary, and Moral Issues

    MISSISSAUGA, ON, June 28 /CNW/ - Over fifteen thousand participants
attended the second day of the 33rd Annual Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim
Community, a three-day event being held at the International Centre,
Mississauga (Derry and Airport Roads). The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which
is know worldwide for its motto, "Love for All, Hatred for None", has been
hosting such conferences for over a century throughout the world.
    During the conference's second day, scholars discussed, amongst other
topics, the moral and spiritual excellences of the Founder of the Ahmadiyya
Muslim Community and the companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him), the correct interpretation of the finality of
his prophethood according to the most revered scholarship of Islamic history,
as well as the correct understanding of the Shariah concept of justice and
criminal punishment. Iftikhar Ayyaz O.B.E in his keynote address highlighted
the persecution of Ahmadiyya Community in the world, he noted how the
blessings of Allah have descended upon the persecuted and the community in

strives to convey the message of societal peace and harmony as preached by the
Holy Prophet Muhammad. Currently, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is lead by
its fifth Khalifa, Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. On July 5, 2008, Prime
Minister Stephen Harper stated that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community represents
"the true and benevolent face of Islam" and referred to its Khalifa as a
"champion of peace."
    The conference is open to the general public and admission is free. On
June 28, the program begins at 10:30 a.m.
