TORONTO, Nov. 12 /CNW/ - Today, the Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants (CSIC) opened registration for an immigration consultant certificate program created to address the inadequacy of access to a fully bilingual (French and English) program by students irrespective of their geographic location.
"While there are quality CSIC-accredited programs offered by educational institutions across Canada there is a lack of French language education opportunities outside of Montreal," said John Ryan, CSIC Chair and Acting CEO. "As the regulator of immigration consultants, CSIC is pleased to offer its program which is designed to serve as a national education option for students across the country, especially those located outside of major city centres."
CSIC's Immigration Consultant Certificate Program is offered entirely online in French and English. The course has been developed entirely by Certified Canadian Immigration Consultants and is modern, practical and thoughtful in its approach to what is quickly becoming one of the most desirable entrepreneurial professions in Canada. The first session will begin on January 11, 2010
"Within 38 weeks, students can complete the program in either French or English from the comfort of their own homes if they so choose, regardless of where they live," concluded Ryan.
The program combines current immigration knowledge and research with cutting-edge, interactive media and social technology. Students will emerge from the program with essential immigration knowledge, legal research skills, a professional network, and a comprehensive, professional business plan to support them as they apply for CSIC membership and launch a business and comply.
CSIC is a national regulatory body and, as such, falls under Federal jurisdiction. This online program will be offered by CSIC's e-Academy in the province of New Brunswick. Established in 2004, CSIC's mandate is to protect consumers of immigration consulting services. Consequently, it is responsible for ensuring the education, competency testing and the discipline of its members. CSIC also requires its members to carry errors and omissions insurance and to contribute to a compensation fund.
