Media Advisory - Press Conference - Local Hospital Cuts and McGuinty's Rural
and Northern Health Care Panel

TORONTO, Nov. 3 /CNW/ -

The Ontario Health Coalition and the Strathroy and Area Concerned
Citizens Group will respond to the McGuinty government's newly released
Terms of Reference and process for its Rural and Northern Health Panel.
The Panel was announced in response to a protest at the Ontario
Legislature on April 29, involving thousands of residents who are facing
    local hospital cuts or closures.
After an almost three month delay, the Panel was formed on July 28, 2009.
The Terms of Reference and process for the Panel were finally made public
on October 15, 2009. According to the newly released information, there
is no plan for public consultation until after the Panel has completed
its report to the Health Minister; too late for many of the current cuts
    and closures.
