28th World Religions Conference

    Gathering of Scholars of 8 World Religions and Philosophical Traditions
    Theme: Founders of Religion - Model for Humanity

    University of Waterloo, October 26, 2008 - 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

    WATERLOO, Oct. 23 /CNW/ - Every year this event assembles people from
diverse faith communities to promote mutual understanding, respect, cohesion,
and fraternity among all members of the human family.
    The Conference is expected to have an attendance of over 800. It is
organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at with the cooperation and partnership
of the City of Waterloo, City of Kitchener, University of Waterloo and over 20
other organizations and faith groups. The World Religions Conference is now
the largest inter-faith event of its kind in Canada.
    Renowned speakers will be representing Christianity, Judaism,
Aboriginals, Sikhism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Humanism (Atheists and Agnostics)
and Islam at the conference. Faith organizations will present spiritual
presentations of poems and songs and set up a World Religions' Exhibition.
    CTV reporter Michael Melling will moderate the conference.
    Several Local, Provincial and National leaders of Canada, are scheduled
to attend and deliver greetings.
