200 MBA students from around the world competing in Montreal from
January 7th-12th, 2008
MONTREAL, Jan. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Students from around the world will
gather in Montreal from January 7th to January 12th, 2008 to participate in
Concordia University's John Molson MBA International Case Competition. The
27th edition of this prestigious annual event will be held at the Hilton
Bonaventure Hotel (900 de la Gauchetière St. West).
Formulating strategic recommendations on real-world business cases, close
to 200 of the best and brightest MBA students from around the world will come
together during the 5-day event. In total 36 teams, including groups from
Canada, France, China and India, will compete to find the best possible
solutions to real problems faced by various organizations. This allows
participants to perfect their presentation skills and strategic thinking,
under the competent eye of the jury, composed of over 200 prominent members of
the business community.
The Dean of the John Molson School of Business, Dr. Sanjay Sharma is one
of the event's biggest supporters. "This competition proves JMSB's vitality
and dynamism. It pushes students to be ingenious and apply the theory learned
in class to common business situations," he said. "The Competition is
determinant in the preparation of tomorrow's business leaders."
"Giving back" is the theme chosen by this year's organizers. Amongst
other initiatives, t-shirts branded with the Competition's logo will be sold
all week, and profits will be given to MBAs Without Borders. This organization
helps bring innovative solutions to developing countries by matching
experienced business volunteers with local businesses and NGOs.
THE EVENT IS OPENED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
