2008 AITS Annual Conference - The most important event on health technologies in Canada

MONTREAL, March 10 /CNW Telbec/ - On March 13 and 14 will be held at the
Centre Mont-Royal in Montreal the third edition of the annual Conference on
health technologies. The event is hosted by the Association of health
technologies industry (AITS) under the theme "Technology, Health and The
World. The 2008 edition of the Conference, chaired by Mr. Jeannot Magnan, Vice
president, Consulting services, PricewaterhouseCoopers, presents an integrated
vision of the health technologies industry, a first in Canada.

    A global vision, local solutions

Over 300 experts and decision-makers from Quebec, Canada and abroad will
meet to discuss the global trends in the industry of health technologies and
propose solutions for the future. Speakers from Australia, the U.S.A., France,
Israel and Canada will address strategic priorities and issues. Canadian and
international trends, development models in the fields of health technologies
in economic environments comparable to that of Quebec (Israel and Australia)
and local development will also be featured on the conference agenda.

A promising sector, an opportunity for Quebec

With a global market of 300 billion dollars (0.5% in Quebec) and a
projected growth rate ranging between 8% and 10% annually, this sector
constitutes a powerful and most promising factor of economic development. "In
the context of an ageing population, dwindling manpower and limited financial
resources, we will be calling increasingly on health technologies over most
other economic sectors to generate more wealth during the next few decades,"
declared Mr. Daniel Laplante, AITS Executive Director.
