OTTAWA, Oct. 20 /CNW Telbec/ - Customs Excise Union Douanes Accise
(CEUDA) opens its 15th National Convention on October 24, 2008. On that day,
delegates and observers will have the opportunity to send a message to the
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) & Treasury Board:
"We want a fair contract and we want it now!"
Over the lunch period on October 24, 2008, CEUDA, in collaboration with
our Brothers and Sisters from the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC),
will hold a rally in Downtown Ottawa to support our bargaining teams and to
let the CBSA and Treasury Board know that we want a serious offer. The
demonstration will begin at the Ottawa Marriott Hotel (100 Kent Street)
walking down to CBSA Headquarters (191 Laurier Avenue West) where guest
speakers will deliver our message.
Our members provide important services to Canadians and the least they
deserve is respect at the bargaining table.
Please join us in supporting civil servants whose mission is to protect
us. Dress comfortably and get ready to deliver a message to the employer!
CEUDA is a component of the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC),
which represents Canada's front-line Customs and Immigration Officers. CEUDA
also represents Investigation, Intelligence and Trade Customs Officers,
Immigration, Inland, Enforcement and Hearings Officers as well as all support
staff - all of whom work at the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
