15 year old conquers Lake Ontario and claims third world record

    TORONTO, August 1 /CNW/ - Laying claim as the youngest and fastest
swimmer to cross Lake Erie in 2008, 15 year old Jade Scognamillo has captured
her third world record as the youngest swimmer to cross Lake Ontario. Setting
out from Queen's Royal Park in Niagara-on-the-Lake last night at 9:33 pm, Jade
completed the traditional 52 km swim route to Marilyn Bell Park in Toronto in
19 hours, 59 minutes and 49 seconds. Under the direction of Solo Swims Canada,
Jade made the open-water crossing in support of the Hospital for Sick
Children's Neonatal Unit.
