Western Canada nofrills® Stores Accepting Donations for Town of Slave Lake

CALGARY, May 20, 2011 /CNW/ - In support of the Town of Slave Lake residents that were forced from their homes after the devastating fire this past weekend, including the employees and franchise owner of Tim's nofrills®, all nofrills® store locations throughout Western Canada have joined together to raise funds for relief efforts.

Donations are now being accepted at all nofrills® locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Northwestern Ontario. Franchise owners will also contribute to the total donation collected at their store. One hundred per cent of the money raised will go to the Canadian Red Cross Western Canada Severe Weather Fund.

"At nofrills® we firmly believe in the importance of making a difference in the communities where we operate. We extend our deepest sympathies to those affected by the fire and we hope that by uniting across Western Canada, our customers and franchisees will help make a difference," said Craig Hodgkinson, vice-president operations, nofrills® West.

Customers wishing to support the Red Cross Alberta Fires relief efforts can make a cash donation at their nearest nofrills® store location until the end-of May. Visit www.nofrills.ca to find the store closest to you. Alternatively, donations can also be made to the Canadian Red Cross at www.redcross.ca, by calling toll free 1-800-418-1111 or at any Red Cross office. Please designate the donation to the Western Canada Severe Weather Fund.
