Walmart Canada invites customers to shop around the clock

Retailer to operate 202 24-hour stores until Christmas Eve

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 30, 2011 /CNW/ - Walmart Canada today announced that it will operate 202 of its 329 stores nationwide around the clock in December. More than half of Walmart stores will open their doors on December 2 and leave them open until closing time on Christmas Eve.

"We know Canadians are facing tough economic times. Our goal is to help our customers prepare for the holiday season by providing everyday low prices on everything they need - from food, to apparel, to electronics and toys - to make this year's celebrations memorable," said Jim Thompson, chief operating officer for Walmart Canada.  "For the past several years, we've been happy to offer 24-hour shopping in communities across Canada during the Christmas shopping period. Flexible hours and one-stop shopping are two of the reasons why Canadians continue to choose Walmart as their destination for holiday shopping."

In addition to the company's everyday low prices and rollback pricing, Walmart Canada has a commitment to match prices through their Ad Match program. Under this program, Walmart Canada will match the advertised in-store retail price of any local competitor for an identical product purchased at a Walmart Canada store (Some conditions and limitations apply. Full details can be found in store.)

New this year, customers can take advantage of Walmart's everyday low prices without leaving the comfort of their home. A selection of products, including electronics, toys, small appliances, jewellery and furniture are available for purchase online through, the retailer's newly developed e-commerce site.
