Two Unifor locals representing workers at the Bombardier Aerospace plant in Downsview have reached tentative agreements. Both agreements are scheduled for ratification on Sunday.
“This was a tough round of negotiations and I'm very proud of the skill shown by our bargaining committees in securing these tentative agreements,” said Unifor National President Jerry Dias, who began his career at the plant and was active in the negotiations.
The deals cover members of Unifor Local 112 who work in production at the plant, as well as members of Unifor Local 673 who work in office and clerical positions.
Details of the two collective agreements will not be made public until after they have been ratified. The Local 673 ratification meeting will be held at 1: 00 PM on Sunday, June 24, at Avani Event Centre at 8400 Jane St in Concord. The Local 112 ratification meeting will take place at 4:00 PM at the same location.
"This deal came together thanks to a great commitment from our bargaining team," said Scott McIlmoyle, President of Unifor Local 112.
Both local bargaining teams are unanimously recommending that their members ratify the deals.
"We are proud to recommend this deal to our members," said Maryellen McIlmoyle, President of Unifor Local 673.
