VANCOUVER, April 5 /CNW/ - Tumi Resources Limited (the "Company")
(TSXV:TM) (Pink Sheets: TUMIF) (Frankfurt:TUY). Mr. David Henstridge,
President and CEO, announces that an initial reverse circulation (RC)
drilling program has been completed at the Mezquite silver-zinc-lead
project, Sonora, Mexico, and a diamond drill program has been completed
at Tomtebo, Bergslagen District, Sweden.
At Mezquite, six holes totaling 980 m tested four chargeable zones
defined by a three dimensional IP survey as well as one hole each under
the main pit and shaft in the centre of the Mezquite mineralized area
(see press release dated March 7, 2011). The drilling confirmed the IP
anomalies, intersecting wide zones of veinlet quartz with enveloping
hematite and fine sulphides. Sampling of the drill cuttings has been
completed, and the samples have been submitted to ALS Chemex's prep lab
in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
Field crews will now focus on rehabilitating road access into the La
Gloria gold-tin-tungsten prospect. Once completed, the mineralized
area will be mapped and sampled in detail and when results are
received, an initial reverse circulation drill program will be planned
At Tomtebo, two diamond drill holes totaling 227.3 m have been
completed, exploring the old workings and a previously untested
electromagnetic (EM) and induced polarisation (IP) anomaly. The
drilling has confirmed the geophysical anomalies, and the core is now
being logged and sampled for assaying. The drill is being relocated to
Vitturn, also located in the Bergslagen District, to test the 400 m
long IP target previously defined in this licence area.
Mr. Henstridge stated: "Our 2011 drill programs are on track. The drill
programs in Mexico at Mezquite and Tomtebo were completed on schedule
and on budget and in Sweden the rig is moving to Vitturn where we will
test the large IP anomaly. In Mexico at our La Gloria project we have
initiated a detailed mapping and sampling program which will continue
for approximately one month at the completion of which this project
will also be ready for drilling."
The qualified person for Tumi's projects, David Henstridge, a Fellow of
the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and a Member of the
Australian Institute of Geoscientists, has visited the Mezquite
silver-zinc-lead project, Sonora, Mexico and the Tomtebo prospect,
Sweden and has verified the contents of this news release.
On behalf of the Board,
David Henstridge, President & CEO
