MONTREAL, Jan. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - Espace Création has laid out its new Tracés to showcase Collection Loto-Québec's most recent acquisitions. From
January 26 to April 24, 2011, 43 inspiring Quebec artists will make
their mark with 67 unpublished paintings, sculptures, engravings, glass
works, photographs and mixed medium pieces.
While very different at first glance, the exhibition lets the works take
form in a continuous flow of diverse forms, languages and contemporary
artistic styles. Tracés presents the work of such recognized and up-and-coming artists as
Thierry Arcand-Bossé, Hugo Bergeron, Sean Rudman, Francine Simonin and
Bill Vazan, to name only a few.
The exhibition is also an opportunity to observe the directions taken by
Collection Loto-Québec as it discovers creators and acquires works of
art by talented Quebec artists. In the flow of Tracés, one may understand the steps Collection Loto-Québec takes to make its
acquisitions and how each is a unique and real democratic process.
Designed by Louis Pelletier, curator of Collection Loto-Québec, Tracés is mainly made up of acquisitions from 2010, a year that left its
imprint on this company collection recognized by the contemporary
visual arts community in Quebec.
Tracés is a rich, dynamic and topical tour for contemporary creation
enthusiasts who want to keep abreast of this evolving art.
