TONIGHT: Gallery Moos Hosts All-Star Art Auction for Parkdale Community Food Bank

TORONTO, Feb. 25 /CNW/ - The Parkdale Community Food Bank will hold its first ever art auction and fundraiser tonight, with Gallery Moos at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts.

Gallery Moos is offering up a selection of work by well-known contemporary Canadian and international artists as well as pieces by local Parkdale artists and food bank users at the live auction to raise money for the food bank, located in one of the city's poorest neighbourhoods.

"The cultural sector makes a huge contribution to the well-being of our communities," said Food Bank Executive Director Robert Thorpe. "These artists, with Gallery Moos, are putting their efforts and talents towards making sure we're able to continue the important work of the food bank."

Thorpe said that he hopes the event will become an annual one.
