TORONTO, Feb. 7 /CNW/ - Roll out the red carpet and pump up the volume
for music's biggest night - the 53rd Annual GRAMMY® Awards are back and more star-studded than ever.
Broadcast live on Sunday, February 13 - 8pm ET/PT on Global, the prestigious award ceremony features the year's most celebrated
recording artists as they duke it out for a spot in GRAMMY history. Off the chart acts like Eminem, Cee Lo Green, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert, Katy Perry and Canadian rockers Arcade Fire will take to the stage. Then, keeping with GRAMMY tradition, the show will include a special duet between Canada's very
own Drake and pop sensation Rihanna. And if that isn't exciting enough, rock legend Mick Jagger will make his very first live appearance on the GRAMMY stage as part of
the broadcast's "In Memorium" tribute, which pays homage to music icons
that have passed away in the past year. This is the show that music
lovers simply cannot miss.
"Even at the height of awards season, the GRAMMYS always stands out above the crowd with its unique combination of A-list
talent, super energetic atmosphere and unforgettable one-off
performances that will have everyone talking the next day," said Barb Williams, SVP, Content, Shaw Media. "Plus, Canadians have a special red carpet pass as ET Canada is back on location to access all the stars in the red hot moment. With
Cheryl, Rick and Matte joining forces, our viewers will be revved up
for an amazing show."
As the only Canadian entertainment outlet positioned on the GRAMMY red carpet, ET Canada's special one-hour pre-show, The GRAMMY Awards: ET Canada Live kicks-off the night starting at 7pm ET/PT and will lead directly into the Awards broadcast. ET Canada's Cheryl Hickey, Rick Campanelli and new Hollywood Correspondent Matte Babel will be at the top of the carpet and catching all the biggest stars as
they enter the Staples Center.
Plus, this year's GRAMMY pre-show is shaping up to be its most interactive yet. ET Canada viewers can stay on top of all the red carpet developments by following
the show's Twitter feed http://twitter.com/etcanada and watching for their own tweets to appear on air during the show.
Fans will also be submitting video questions to ask the stars and can
participate in the 'Fashion Instant Poll' where they can vote on the
celebrity outfits throughout the show. For all this and more, fans
should visit etcanada.com.
And for a complete recap of all the GRAMMY Awards highlights viewers can tune into ET Canada Monday, February 14 at 7:30pm ET/PT, following Entertainment Tonight at 7pm ET/PT on Global.
