The Future of the Farm & Food Business in Alberta

RED DEER, AB, Jan. 20 /CNW/ - The Future of the Farm & Food Business in Alberta is a day conference, February 17, Red Deer.  It brings together those with a stake in agriculture for education, information and networking.  The speakers will  present on timely topics: food processing, competitive challenges facing agribusiness, the outlook for crop and commodity-based farming, a perspective on local food production and food security, a look at a successful family business transition and then, from a farm perspective, the value of investing in education and how to make value-added farm businesses profitable.  The last presentation looks at the history, faith and culture of the Hutterites.

This 6th annual provincial conference hosted by the Canadian Association of Farm Advisors (CAFA) Inc. grows each year as the speakers, topics and networking opportunities are exceptional and good value.

CAFA is a national non-profit organization dedicated to assisting farm families and businesses by increasing the skills and knowledge of farm advisors and consultants from different professional backgrounds.  Chapters across Canada meet on a regular basis to learn more about programs, policies and trends and issues in the ag industry.  Regular meetings and annual provincial conferences also encourage the building networks of like-minded professionals which fosters the development of referrals and advisory boards.

Cultivating Business, CAFA's annual publication, is now available.  With articles on farm planning along with a complete listing of Certified Agricultural Farm Advisors across Canada - it is an excellent resource for farms, farm businesses, agri-business and farm organizations.
