Nearly $450,000 raised since 2002
MONTREAL, June 15 /CNW Telbec/ - CN today announced that the Mauricie region CN Employees' and Pensioners' Community Fund and its partners will be holding the 10th annual Centraide Western Day as part of its annual fundraising campaign. The activity will take place during the Festival Western de St-Tite on Saturday, September 10.
On that day, ticketholders will be able to board a special VIA Rail train that will provide a shuttle service between Montreal Central Station and St-Tite, with a stop in Shawinigan. The package includes round-trip train fare and admittance to the Festival Western rodeo.
Proceeds will be donated to Centraide Mauricie and McHappy Day, a very active charitable organization in the region that provides assistance to sick children and their families. Since it was launched in 2002, Centraide Western Day has raised almost $450,000 for these two organizations.
This event is organized by the CN Employees' and Pensioners' Community Fund and the main sponsors are CN, VIA Rail Canada, McDonald's restaurants in Mauricie, Centraide Mauricie and the Festival Western de St-Tite.
