SOCAN Members Arcade Fire and Michael Bublé Honoured with Grammy Awards

TORONTO, Feb. 15 /CNW/ - The Society of Authors, Composers, and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) is proud to highlight the achievements of eight of its members at the 53rd Grammy Awards.

"SOCAN congratulates the members of Arcade Fire, a collective that shows how to blend success with unfettered creative freedom," said Eric Baptiste, CEO of SOCAN. "Exceptionally talented Canadians, like Michael Bublé and all of our members who were nominated for Grammy Awards this year, deserve this recognition for their great contribution to the international music scene."

SOCAN members who received awards this year include:

Arcade Fire (Win Butler, William Butler, Régine Chassagne, Jeremy Gara, Tim Kingsbury, Sarah Neufeld, Richard Parry) - Album of the Year (for The Suburbs); and
Michael Bublé - Traditional Pop Vocal Album (for Crazy Love).
SOCAN members who were also recognized for their success through nominations this year include:
Alex Cuba - Latin Pop Album (for Alex Cuba)
Drake - New Artist, Solo Rap Performance (for "Over"), Rap Performance by a Duo or Group (for "Fancy", recorded with T.I. & Swiss Beatz), Rap Album (for Thank Me Later)
Melanie Fiona - Rap/Sung Collaboration (for "Wake Up! Everybody", recorded with John Legend, The Roots, and Common)
Marc-André Hamelin - Instrumental Soloist Performance (without Orchestra) (for Hamelin: Études)
Rush - Long Form Music Video (for Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage)
