TORONTO, May 12 /CNW Telbec/ - Family Channel is tickled pink when drama queen Sharpay Evans returns in her very own
Disney Channel Original Movie Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure premiering on Friday, May 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Filmed in Toronto and introducing four new original songs, the movie
adds pizzazz to Family Channel when it headlines a Night of Premieres, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT, featuring six new episodes from
favourite Family series.
In Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure, starring Ashley Tisdale (High School Musical), Austin Butler (Life Unexpected), Bradley Steven Perry (Good Luck Charlie) and Cameron Goodman (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody), a New York casting director spots aspiring thespian Sharpay Evans
performing with her dog, Boi, at a charity gala and offers to arrange
an audition for a new Broadway musical. With Boi in tow, Sharpay packs
her bags and heads to the Big Apple to fulfill her destiny. Her father
has given her one month to make it to centre stage, or else she will
have to return home and learn the family business. However, Sharpay's
dreams are turned upside down when she discovers the Broadway role is
really for Boi, not her. Pushing her disappointment aside, Sharpay sets
out to make Boi the most fabulous canine to hit the Great White Way.
Ashley Tisdale also serves as executive producer of the movie, along
with Barry Rosenbush and Bill Borden (High School Musical franchise). Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure was written by Robert Horn (writer of Broadway's 13). Emmy Award-winning Michael Lembeck (Tooth Fairy, The Santa Clause 2 and The Santa Clause 3) serves as director.
Fish Hooks starts the Night of Premieres marathon at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT. Milo enlists
Bea and Oscar to help keep his secret of being a fish hidden when
Pamela Hamster comes to visit Freshwater. Everything goes awry when the
rest of the fish discover that not only has Milo been impersonating a
hamster and has drained water from the tanks, but he has failed to
throw them the awesome party he promised.
Following Fish Hooks is Wingin' It with a new episode called "Carl + Alt + Delete" at 5 p.m. ET/PT. Carl
suspects that the new smart student in school, Ty, is cheating on tests
and asks Porter to magically send him into Ty's computer. However, when
Carl can't get back to the real world, Porter has to figure out how to
save Carl before he gets deleted.
In a new episode of Pair of Kings, premiering at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT, Boomer and Brady discover Vault 14, a
secret vault which protects Kinkow's most mysterious and powerful
artifacts including Duplicatus Plantus, a plant that copies anything it
touches. The kings make clones of themselves and while they go surfing,
they send their doubles to the Kalooki Island Peace Summit.
At 6:30 p.m. ET/PT, both Rocky and CeCe learn a valuable lesson in lying
after Rocky is untruthful about being able to hang out with the honour
society kids, and CeCe fakes a leg injury to skip gym class on Shake It Up.
Bob and Amy's plans for Charlie's potty training go awry when she
flushes her toys and clogs up the pipes in a new episode of Good Luck Charlie at 7 p.m. ET/PT. When Bob attempts to fix the problem himself, he
inadvertently shuts off the power and water for the night.
A new episode of Wizards of Waverly Place at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT, after Alex meets her childhood hero, former
professional wrestler Muy Macho, she finds out she's the reason he
retired and convinces him to return to the ring.
