Seair sells dissolved air flotation systems to two customers

EDMONTON, Sept. 26, 2011 /CNW/ - Seair Inc. (SDS:TSX Venture Exchange) is pleased to announce it has sold two Seair dissolved air flotation ("DAF") systems to customers in Canada and the United States for total proceeds of approximately $260,000. The customers are using the Seair DAF systems for different applications, but in both cases the Seair solution was found to produce superior flotation results compared to other available systems.

DAF, and similar induced gas flotation, or IGF, systems are an essential element of many industrial processes around the world. They are commonly used for applications such as oil/water separation, removal of suspended solids, food processing, pulp and paper effluent treatment and activated sludge thickening. Seair's microbubble-based DAF has been shown to be particularly effective and yields superior results than conventional systems. Moreover, the inherent efficiency of the Seair diffusion system results in lower overall DAF operating costs. The extremely small bubble size created by the Seair system is the key to this efficiency. Bubbles in the Seair DAF system are less than 1/8 the size of bubbles in other DAF systems.

Harold Kinasewich, Seair President and CEO, states "we first developed our DAF system as part of a multi-step treatment processes for very complex wastewaters. It continues to be an important part of those systems but we now also have commercial acceptance of the Seair DAF on a stand-alone basis. The DAF units require little, if any, modification from industry to industry, so these sales open the door to Seair accessing any number of global markets."

About Seair

Seair develops proprietary equipment that diffuses gases, such as oxygen, ozone and carbon dioxide, into liquids. Seair's patented technologies can produce extremely small bubbles which are more efficient than other diffusion technologies. The result is a stable condition, where gases remain in solution for extended periods of time, leading to increased productivity and lower operating costs. This, in turn, facilitates gas-based treatment of complex and challenging wastewater and allows Seair to provide full water reuse and closed loop systems.

Seair applications include frac and produced water treatment, efficient aeration of industrial ponds, mine dewatering, end-to-end sewage treatment for permanent residential communities and remote work camps, golf course irrigation and pond treatment, and oil sands/SAGD water solutions.
