EDMONTON, April 20 /CNW/ - Seair Inc. (TSXV: SDS) is pleased to announce it has signed an exclusive agreement to collaborate with Houston based R360 Environmental Solutions to address the growing need for large volume recycling of water used in oil and gas exploration and development within the United States. The R360 deal comes after successful testing of a pilot unit capable of treating produced water and other oil field waters to the point where treated water is suitable for sale and reuse in oil field exploration and development. Under the terms of the deal R360 will purchase the pilot plant for commercial deployment and work has already begun on designing the first large scale permanent treatment plant. Seair will provide key equipment and ongoing design and operating expertise as part of an exclusive arrangement with R360. Seair will receive sales revenue for supplied equipment and services as well as an ongoing throughput royalty for all water treated by the environmentally friendly treatment plants.

Oil and gas exploration and development is water intensive, particularly with the increasing use of hydraulic fracing. Much of the water used returns to the surface as oil and gas are extracted, but this return water is generally sent to disposal wells as there have not been economically and environmentally viable systems to remove contaminants from these large volumes of water. Affordably recycling water will not only reduce the overall cost of water but also relieve pressure on water supply.

Troy Thacker, CEO of R360, stated "We are excited to be working with Seair to combine this technology with our footprint of recycling and disposal sites across the most active oil and gas producing basins in the U.S. Our Agreement with Seair represents an important step toward our goal of providing more cost effective and environmentally responsible solutions to our E&P customers."

"We've been working on oil field water treatment solutions for years, but have always needed a partner ready to step up and take it to commercial reality. R360 is the perfect partner, with the established presence and willingness to change the industry," said Harold Kinasewich, President and CEO of Seair. "We look forward to jointly changing the whole concept of how water is managed within the United States oil and gas industry."

About Seair

Seair develops proprietary equipment that diffuses gases into liquids. The introduction of oxygen, ozone or carbon dioxide results in a supersaturated solution, that meets environmental standards and customer needs. Seair's patented technologies can produce extremely small bubbles which are more efficient than other diffusion technologies. Our technologies are used in a variety of applications in the oil and gas industry. We also service customers in such diverse fields as wastewater treatment, pulp and paper, food processing, aquaculture, agriculture/horticulture, sterilization, golf course irrigation and pond treatment and animal enhancement.

Seair is a leading developer of patent-protected diffusion and sterilization technologies, which allow for the efficient diffusion of gases into liquids, thereby facilitating numerous applications in a wide variety of industries, including wastewater treatment, pulp and paper production, food processing, aquaculture, agriculture/horticulture, sterilization, golf course irrigation and pond treatment, animal enhancement and oil and gas.  Seair's primary focus is developing and selling equipment that diffuses gases, such as oxygen, ozone or carbon dioxide, into a liquid, resulting in a supersaturated solution.  The major difference between Seair's and others' diffusion technologies is Seair's ability to achieve extremely small bubble size, which in turn allows for the mass transfer of gas to fluid.  The result is a stable condition, where gases remain in solution for extended periods of time, leading to increased productivity and lower operating costs.  Seair provides diffusion-enhanced portable wastewater treatment plants through its subsidiary, Seair Septic.
