Saint John, N.B. to Host National Canadian Public Relations Conference

TORONTO, Feb. 28 /CNW/ - Join forces with public relations and communications professionals across Canada. The 2011 Canadian Public Relations Conference will be held in Saint John, NB from June 5-7 at the Hilton Saint John. The conference is expected to draw over 300 public relations professionals from across the country. This year's theme is the "Power of Public Relations."

"The Power of PR theme perfectly captures the main elements of this year's conference," said Susan Harris, Host Committee Chair. "We will witness the power of people working together, the power of research and strategic planning, and the power of technology and its tools on the PR and communications industry."

The three-day conference will include guest speakers, workshops, networking opportunities, CPRS' 2011 annual general meeting and its annual Awards of Excellence gala and dinner. Keynote speakers are Dave Carroll, internationally acclaimed internet sensation behind the song "United Breaks Guitars" Mitch Joel, a marketing and personal branding expert, considered to be the "Rock Star of Digital Marketing" Peggie Pelosi, Founder and CEO of ORENDA Connections, a corporate social responsibility (CSR) consultancy; and Sean Wise, author of "How to Be a Business Superhero."

This year's conference is being organized by the National Office and members of the New Brunswick CPRS local Society. While the primary conference site is the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre, evening events will be held at the Hathaway Pavilion at Rockwood Park and the cruise terminal tent on the Long Wharf. The annual conference is held in alternating cities across Canada and will be held in Victoria, B.C. in 2012.  For full registration details, go online to
