Ritchie Bros. to sell more than 390 truck tractors over six days in Eastern Canada

Auctions in Montreal, QC and Toronto, ON feature 140+ Freightliner, 115+ International, 30+ Peterbilt and 20+ Kenworth truck tractors

TORONTO, Nov. 28, 2011 /CNW/ - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers (NYSE and TSX: RBA), the world's largest industrial auctioneer, will sell more than 390 truck tractors at separate unreserved public equipment auctions in Montreal, QC (December 1 - 2, 2011) and Toronto, ON (December 5 - 6). A huge selection of other trucks, trailers and heavy equipment items will also be sold—more than 2,400 items in the Montreal auction and more than 2,000 in the Toronto auction. Among the items being sold in Toronto: two Bell Jet Ranger 206B helicopters. Every item will be sold to the highest bidder on auction day—regardless of price—with no minimum bids or reserve prices. Bidders can bid in person at the auction sites, online in real time at www.rbauction.com, or by proxy.

"We've sold more than 850 truck tractors in Montreal and Toronto so far this year, but it's not often that we sell close to 400 at the two sites in less than a week," said Jake Lawson, Divisional Manager, Ritchie Bros. In total, Ritchie Bros. will sell more than 550 truck tractors at six upcoming auctions in Canada—in Saskatoon, SK (Nov. 30); Montreal, QC (Dec. 1 & 2); Toronto, ON (Dec. 5 & 6); Edmonton, AB (Dec. 7 & 8); Chilliwack, BC (Dec. 13); and Truro, NS (Dec. 14). So far in 2011, Ritchie Bros. has sold close to 2,000 truck tractors in Canada alone; more than 7,000 worldwide.

Other equipment to be sold in the Montreal auction includes a 2010 Caterpillar 385CL hydraulic excavator (15+ hydraulic excavators will be sold in total), a 2011 Volvo L220F wheel loader (25+ wheel loaders in total), a 2006 Caterpillar D10T crawler tractor (20+ crawler tractors in total), seven 2010 Volvo A35E 6x6 articulated dump trucks (15 articulated dump trucks in total) and more.

Other equipment to be sold in the Toronto auction includes a 2011 Caterpillar 966H wheel loader (30+ wheel loaders in total), a 2011 Caterpillar D6T XW crawler tractor (20+ crawler tractors in total), a 2011 Caterpillar 336EL hydraulic excavator, nine late model John Deere 350 DLC hydraulic excavators (35+ hydraulic excavators in total) and more.
