MONTREAL, Nov. 1, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - The Association des économistes québécois would like to remind journalists
to submit their application for the 15th edition of the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec-Bank of America Merrill Lynch
Economic and Financial Journalism Awards of Excellence.
All applications must be received by Friday, November 11, 2011, at 3 p.m.
Prizes of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 will be awarded to the winners on
February 1, 2012, during a ceremony at Centre CDP Capital.
This competition is open to all journalists working for print,
audiovisual or electronic media in Québec, in either of the two
official languages. To qualify, candidates must submit, by November 11, 2011, an economic or financial report published or broadcast between
September 1, 2010, and August 31, 2011.
Excellence prizes will be awarded in the following three categories:
In this special anniversary year, a one-time Succession Award will be granted to encourage young journalists who choose to work in
the economic or financial domains. The winner will be chosen on the
basis of excellence among all nominations submitted to the jury that
are produced by candidates aged 35 and under. The winner of the
Succession Award will receive a $5,000 prize, which can be in addition
to the first ($10,000), second ($5,000) and third ($2,500) prizes in
the annual competition.
Also for this 15th edition, the Association des économistes québécois
and its partners wish to recognize an outstanding contribution from a
journalist who has advanced economic and financial journalism, with the
granting of a Career Award.
