TORONTO, Sept. 15, 2011 /CNW/ - Survivor: South Pacific dominated the competition last night with 2.1 million viewers (2+, national) tuning into Global for the premiere of the perennial fan favourite, winning the night
nationally and in the country's biggest markets, Toronto and Vancouver
SURVIVOR: SOUTH PACIFIC 8PM DATA HIGHLIGHTS (All data Adults 18-49 unless otherwise indicated):
Won the night with just over 1 million viewers nationally in the key demo
Outperformed closest competitor of the night, CityTV's America's Got Talent finale by 61%
Won its timeslot in all key markets
Following Survivor was Global's smash hit series Big Brother which wrapped its season by taking the top spot in its timeslot, drawing
an audience of 1.5 million (2+, national) and over 800,000 viewers nationally (A 18-49).
Survivor and Big Brother were the most watched programs of the night with 5.6 million* different Canadians tuned in to watch Global over the three hours
It was a great night for Shaw Media all around as History Television dominated eight of the Top 10 shows on the specialty dial (A 25-54)
with a combination of Pawn Stars, Ice Road Truckers, Swamp People and American Restoration.
