MONTREAL, Jan. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Journalists are invited to attend Metro's Annual Shareholders Meeting and a news briefing after the meeting adjourns. During the meeting, Metro will discuss various subjects and will present the results for the first quarter of fiscal 2010-2011.

Tuesday, January 25, 2010, at 11 a.m.

News briefing:
Following adjournment of the Meeting (about 12:15 p.m.)

Journalists who wish to attend the Annual Meeting must register at the
"Media" table. Question period is for shareholders only.
A webcast version of the Annual Meeting will be accessible on Metro's corporate website.

N.B.: No electronic equipment (video or still cameras, tape recorders,
etc.) will be permitted in the room where the Annual General Meeting is
being held. However, a brief taping session will be allowed prior to
the opening of the meeting.
