TORONTO, Nov. 29, 2011 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, November 30, 2011, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) is Teaming Up with The
Salvation Army to launch the Annual Christmas Kettle Campaign.
Together they will bring the "Message of Hope" to the crowd at Air Canada Centre.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are recognized as Canada's premier hockey club
and The Salvation Army is grateful for their support of our service in
the community and our Christmas fundraising efforts. Maple Leaf Sports
and Entertainment aspires to be a leader in the community - by donating
its time and resources - making it a better place to live, work, and
play. These values are keeping with The Salvation Army's vision to
restore people and communities to full life and health.
Date: November 30, 2011 - Beginning at 5:30pm
Prior to the game The Salvation Army Christmas Brass Ensemble will
serenade fans entering Air Canada Centre accompanied by Christmas
Kettles and Bell Ringers.
A 35' inflatable Salvation Army Christmas Bell will be set up in Maple Leaf Square.
The Salvation Army North York Temple Brass Band consisting of 25
musicians will play the American and Canadian National anthems.
The captain of each team will make a symbolic donation to the Christmas
Kettles prior to the puck drop.

Bell ringing by hosts of Salvation Army Christmas Kettles has been a
tradition for over 100 years.
The sound of bells at Salvation Army Christmas Kettles represents the
subtle voice of those in need at Christmas in our community.
Throughout the duration of the Christmas Kettle Campaign in Toronto over
2,000 Bell Ringers will host over 350 Kettles raising money to fund our
Community and Family Services programs year round.
The Christmas Kettle Camapaign 2011 goal is $3 million.
