TORONTO, Jan. 17, 2011 /CNW/ - GO Transit is waiving the fare for police, fire and emergency services personnel traveling to pay their respects to fallen Toronto police officer, Sgt. Ryan Russell on Tuesday, January 18.
Emergency services workers from across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area can ride for free to and from Union Station as they attend the tribute and funeral held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. All emergency workers are asked to identify themselves by wearing their uniform or carrying identification while traveling.
The funeral for Sgt. Ryan Russell will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18.
Regular passengers are asked to give themselves extra time as increased volume is expected during the afternoon rush hour.
