Palais des congrès de Montréal woos consumer and trade show market

MONTREAL, Jan. 27, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - In keeping with its mission, the Palais des congrès de Montréal is launching a major offensive aimed at organizers of consumer and trade shows. The playful campaign uses assembly blocks to highlight the irrefutable benefits of planning and hosting exhibitions at the Palais.

"This is the perfect time to stake our claim in the North American trade show market and take full advantage of the economic recovery," declares Marc Tremblay, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Palais. He adds: "The Palais is a convention centre that is ideally adapted for exhibitions looking to stand out in an environment bustling with activity. Through our incomparable service and high performing facilities, and location in the city's downtown, our aim is to give promoters and visitors an experience they'll want to relive."

Versatile spaces
The Palais recently rethought and refocused all of its rental spaces, and it now offers exhibitions nearly 400,000 sq. ft. (37,000 m2) in which to accommodate up to 1,800 booths in a state-of-the-art hi-tech environment. New! Consumer show promoters can now use the main lobby on Level 1 (commercial mall) for booths and take advantage of the daily commuter traffic of 10,000 people.

One of the best-kept secrets about the Palais is that it is an official customs clearance point recognized by the Canada Border Services Agency, which really simplifies things for organizers who need to move large quantities of material quickly. Also, the Palais' 18 loading docks and indoor waiting area capable of accommodating 10 53-foot trailer trucks at once make setting up and taking down a logistical breeze - yet another major asset for event promoters and organizers!

An experienced team
The Palais team enjoys a worldwide reputation for embracing the planning and execution of their clients' events with unbridled passion, and they have a nearly 90% customer satisfaction rate to prove it! Pushing the limits of the event hosting process, boosting attendances, and contributing to the overall success of events are what this team of creative and efficient professionals strive for every day.

An exceptional venue
The Palais des congrès is located in the heart of downtown and links together Montréal's most "happening" districts, including the international district, the arts and entertainment district, Old Montréal and Chinatown. Easily accessible by car by virtue of its 1,600 indoor parking spaces, by public transit, by bike and on foot, especially thanks to its direct connection to Montréal's underground city, the Palais is 20 minutes away from the international airport, and steps away from the central train station. It is also near numerous hotels, of which 4,000 rooms are connected to the Palais via the underground city.

Developed in collaboration with Tourisme Montréal, the tradeshow campaign will be followed in mid February 2011 by a campaign aimed at consumer shows. To learn more, visit
