QUEBEC CITY, Jan. 12 /CNW Telbec/ - OPSENS Inc. ("Opsens") (TSX-V: OPS)
is pleased to announce receipt of a new client order from an
international integrated energy company. Opsens will manufacture,
assemble and deploy a permanent casing sensor system for a high
temperature multi-zone observation well with multiple systems - three
digital gauges and two OPP-W fiber optic sensors combined with
Distributed Temperature Sensing ("DTS").
"One of Opsens differentiating capabilities I think resonated with our
customer for this project is our proprietary technology that takes into
account the flow dynamics of cement slurry during the cementing
process. By considering the rheological properties of cement slurry,
the net annular area to be cemented and then specifically designing our
bottom hole assembly accordingly, we can expect excellent cement
density and bond about our sensors. The result is very good zonal
isolation which provides clients with reliable downhole information
used to optimize operating processes," said Darren Wiltse, President of
Opsens Solutions Inc.
In the thermal recovery market, Opsens' OPP-W fiber optic sensor system
provides oil sands producers with reliable real-time downhole pressure
and temperature information about their SAGD wells during operation.
The ability to accurately control bottomhole pressure at high
temperatures for artificial lift systems such as electrical submersible
pumps allows SAGD operators to improve steam/oil ratios and to reduce
operating and lifting costs. For multiple well operations, this can
provide millions of dollars in savings by reducing water treatment
costs, optimizing natural gas consumption as it pertains to steam
generation and enhancing the run time of artificial lift systems.
Opsens Solutions' also has an ongoing commitment to the development of
reservoir surveillance solutions and for CO2-EOR, geological storage of CO2, and unconventional gas projects.
